Chinese as a Second Language (CSL)
Our Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) Program is designed to encourage language enrichment through hands-on learning, as well as utilize specialized material based on your child's ability.
Language Goals:
Designed to meet the 5 Cs as identified by the National Standard for Language Learning and 21st Century Skills for World Languages ).
Our Curriculum Framework:
Structured in accordance with ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) as well as CLASS (Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools).
Reading Goals:
Designed by referring to the International Progress in Reading Research Project (PIRLS).
Differentiated Classes:
Novice
Novice- Low
Students need the basic fundamentals and introduction of the Chinese language
Novice- Mid
Students understand the basic fundamentals such as phrases and vocabularuy
Novice- High
Students comprehend the fundamentals with assistance
Intermediate - Advanced
Intermediate- Low
Students are able to successfully understand basic communicative tasks and implement these strategies.
